About Us

The Bridgeport Farmers Market Collaborative (BFMC) was formed in 2014 as a way to combat nutrition insecurity in neighborhoods lacking access to fresh, Connecticut-Grown produce.

Today, BFMC has three streams of community currency that make shopping at our farmers markets more affordable: Bridgeport Bucks, SNAP match tokens, and Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) match vouchers. These nutrition programs are offered at all nine participating markets throughout the season.

Bridgeport's farmers market season begins in June and operates through November. Check out the market schedule for dates and details!
